1 What is a DMV?
A DMV, or Department of Motor Vehicles, is a government agency responsible for handling various aspects of vehicle registration, driver licensing, and public road safety. In the United States, each state has its own DMV or equivalent agency, like the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) in certain states, which manages the issuance of driver's licenses, vehicle titles, and license plates. DMVs are also responsible for conducting driving tests, vehicle inspections, and maintaining records of traffic violations.
